It's a Google product, shouldn't it be looked on favorably by Google's search engine?

If alt and title are important to the search engines wouldn't Google include that as part of Blogger's procedure?

I also sense a bit of disdain for Blogger - but let me tell you - Blogger has got me ranked number one for 'green roofs florida' and 'florida green roofs' and a bunch of other florida green roof search terms.  And that is up against some big corporate entities and universities!
I'm a novice at Blog design and really put my blog up for sharing of information - ( www.kevinsonger.blogspot.com )  and there are a few quirks with Blogger and SEO - but I am learning thanks to 503me.
I say do both Blogger and WP.  Google picks up my Blogger posts within 24 hours usually and since I've started using the advice I get here I've gone from 4 hits per week to 50 pages htis a day.
I just wish when I started my blog that I would have named it something more relevant than my name - but can't undo the past.
Don't discount Blogger - it should be a front-line tool for your business.
Thank you! I feel I'm having good results too, for my efforts, though nothing to compare it to. (There's not a lot of demand for my narrow topic --- oxen.)

Also, Blogger has made a number of improvements since I started about eight months ago.    --Reply posted anonymously 4 months 8 days ago.
Kevin just start another blog and use the one with your name on it as the central blog that ties all your other blogs together. You can make as many blogs as you want with blogger. Use the links tool on blogger to have them all listed on every blog. I'm not to big at blogging but know I will have to do it sooner or later. If you can turn your blogger site into a news release site somehow your traffic will really go up. Try writing some articles about your website. I wrote this one the other day (note: I could not post the URL in the answer. Admin you may think about changing this.) It sorta lost the meaning of my answer without the URL being posted.    --Reply posted anonymously 4 months 3 days ago.

I think blogger's great. I've seen some incredibly succesful blogs that use subdomains (myname.blogspot.com) and default templates. I don't think using blogger penalizes you in any way. If you feel the need to differentiate yourself, try playing around with your template or get your own domain.
One advantage of Blogger that is often forgotten is that they give you complete control of your blogs by allowing you to run javascript widgets. That means you can run your own ads and any widget you choose. Wordpress.com doesn't allow that.
